Wow! What a great honor to be named one of the recipients of Inc. magazine’s Best Workplaces award. To be recognized on a national level for being a great place to work has me in a state of awe.
At SyncShow, we have a great culture, lots of great benefits and a team that absolutely rocks it! But to be honest, I am kinda surprised our small company beat out hundreds or thousands of other companies across the United States. After all, doesn’t every company have flexible work arrangements, eight weeks paid parental leave, a great cappuccino maker, health benefits, health club reimbursements and a 401K + match?
Upon being awarded with this incredible recognition, I explained to my two daughters what this award represents and that’s when it hit me. Perks and benefits have little to do with great workplaces. Perks and benefits are often sited because they are tangible. What makes a great workplace has more to do with creating an environment that fosters a full life of each and every team member. It’s about respect for our team, our clients and ourselves. It’s about the little things that mean the world to each individual at SyncShow; recognition for a job well done, client praise and flexibility to make your kids’ soccer game.
It’s about a team that treats each other with respect at all times. It’s about having respectful relationships from those that work with us, including clients, vendors and partners. It’s about passion for what we do and the ability to succeed at doing it. Being one of Inc.’s Best Workplaces is about continuous learning, working hard, playing hard and doing it all with the flexibility for life’s more important things. 
When I founded SyncShow 16 years ago, I never dreamed of being recognized for a national best places to work award. I am truly honored. However, this award is really not for me, it’s for the team at SyncShow. It’s for each and every smile, kind word or offer of assistance. If you were to ask me two months ago if I thought SyncShow was a great place to work, I would have said yes, but we have so much more to do. To me, this award lets us know we are on the right track and I couldn’t be prouder.
